New addition to the family!

Let me introduce you to a new member of our family: Lizzie!



She was rescued by the SPCA and a friend of ours adopted her. Unfortunately, they are truck drivers and spend a lot of time on the road. So even though they didn't want to part with her, they decided it was better for her if she had a more stable home. So we brought her into our family. She is so sweet and mild it is like night and day with the other 3 we have. But she is fitting in well and having a good time.

Are realtors crazy? We listed my wife's house with a realtor here in town and things have not been what I would consider good, maybe it is just my inexperience with dealing with realtors, but we worked our butts off getting the house ready to show before we left for the wedding. We were gone 2 weeks and we get a call a week into our vacation / honeymoon asking if it is ok to show the house. We were like YES!!! The realtor then went on to say that the log book and other documentation wasn't setup yet. ARGH!!

We have been back from our trip for a couple of weeks now and we have been working on small details, painting over small cracks in the paint, re-hanging closet doors and such, so we have been back over to the house now and then, twice in the two weeks we have been back, the doors have been left unlocked and lights left on. When I called to mention this to our realtor all he said he could do was apologize, that this doesn't happen. I'm like well it happened here!

He also wanted all the small detail work done so he could put it on the parade of homes, I guess this is a trip that the realtors make through the community to show other realtors the houses that are available. I told him that we would get the house done and have it ready, if we could. I have called him to confirm that the house will be on the parade of homes and I get no call back. Is this normal? Again we have worked hard to get the house prepared and to not hear anything back is a bit disheartening..

Anyway time to call the realtor again!

Weekends!

Where does the time go? This weekend was a good one, but it seems like there isn't enough time in the day or on the weekends anymore. We got a lot done this weekend, but so much more to do. We were over at the other house doing small repairs, and painting. Well I say painting, but I made a mess. Do you know that pink paint on white carpet is hard to get out? Well I do now. Just don't do it!

I also made pickles this weekend, I now have 22 quarts of bread and butter pickles made this year and 5 pints of pickled okra. My fingers show the scars of the slicer I'll remember this weekend for a while I tell ya. My slicer has a crinkle cut blade that I was using on the cucumbers and if your fingers get too close, little grooves get cut into the tips. Not fun.

What can I say? I've been busy, with 2 houses, to mow the yards, fix up and try to sell I've been a bit busy. However, I did find the time to Simpsonize myself! If you get the chance you can save it as an image or as a buddyicon!
