MMMM, can't wait

Well it is official, I am doing a veggie garden again this year. Here's to hoping it is as bountiful as last year. Put out 3 roma type tomatoes, 3 huge type tomatoes, 4 Bell Pepper plants, oregano and dill. Soon to follow will be the cucumbers, corn watermelon and squash.

Spring Break was just a time off school I could spend working on the farm, from Dad's point of view.

When it rains it pours, escpecially in OK

So I know I have work to do on the house, after this weekend, and all, but I try to treat my wife to lunch yesterday, only to find out that she has a flat tire. Ok, no biggie I take her to lunch and back then proceed to put the spare on and take the flat to get fixed.

Set the parking brake, jack up the car take off the flat, try to put the spare on. Ok the car isn't high enough, gotcha, work that screw jack, (appropriate name I'm thinking), up some more... Car falls off jack...... What a day, ok, ok,.... I'm in a parking lot, no logs or anything nearby, so I take my drop hitch off the jimmy and wedge it under the back tire.. Jack up car again, falls off jack again... GAH!

Do you see a pattern with my luck recently? To quote Firefly, "Notice anything about our luck recently? Rely on our luck and we be floating dead in space."

Also I have a leaking radiator! GAH

New phone line

Saturday, my father in law and I were in the attic checking on the new roof. You know making sure the exhaust pipes for the water heater and central heater were not touching the decking. You know just in case, and some of the attic is decked and all... Well there was a phone line just sitting there and I just "had to" catch it. Lovely little phone line, tripped me up and next thing I know I have two feet through the ceiling.....

I'm bruised, but ok, have two holes in the ceiling one on each side of a wall... Ugh. Found out they stapled the phone line to the stud too. Couldn't pull the new phone line through using the existing phone line, stapled too tight. So after 3 hours of fishing a line through the wall to pull the new phone cable, I have a working phone again, great just in time for telemarketers to start calling again.. Lovely!

New Roof

Well the roofer wasted no time in getting started on the roof. I think it had something to do with us having some warranty work done and that we already had the check from the insurance. Anyway, got a call yesterday at 7:50 AM saying that we had to move our cars and let the trucks in. By noon they had the old shingles off the house and started laying new shingles by 1 PM.

This morning we thought that we would have until 8 AM before they got there, but no at 6:50 they arrive and I had to throw on some clothes to move the cars again!
